Five teenagers died after they were involved in a crash last night which left another man injured and a road closed for more than five hours.
Megan Storey, 16, Arpad Kore, 18, Blake Cairns, 16, Bartosz Bortniczak, 18 and Jordanna Goodwin, 16, died after the crash near Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
The five were all travelling in the same blue Toyota Corolla and a man in the other car, a grey Seat, involved in the crash was taken to hospital with a broken leg.
A 21-year-old man from Doncaster, who police believe may have been driving a third vehicle which could have been involved, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail.
The crash took place at about 9.40pm in foggy conditions on the A630 in Conisbrough, near Doncaster, approximately 650 yards from Archer Way.
The four passengers in the Toyota all went to the same sixth form, Danum Academy, in Doncaster.
Rebecca Staples, headteacher at the Academy, released a statement saying books of remembrance had been opened at the school, which would stay open until 7pm for students who wanted to pay their respects.
She said Blake Cairns, Jordanna Goodwin, Arpad Kore, and Megan Storey were 'flourishing' at the sixth form and Bartosz Bortniczak had recently left the school but retained close ties with students
