Girl Arrested Near Kano's Kantin-Kwari Market Wearing Explosive Vest

Following a recent string of bombings in Nigeria's northeast, security operatives today say that they have arrested a girl in Kano State with explosives attached to her body.

Mr President Set To Acquire A New Executive Private Jet

According to SaharaReporters...

President Goodluck Jonathan wants to ride yet another new aircraft, and he has asked the National Assembly to approve the purchase. The request is part of the 2015 budget presented to the National Assembly in Abuja last week by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. It will be the fourth such purchase since he took office in 2010.

To make the acquisition of the gleaming new toy fit for the electoral stomp an attractive proposition, the presidency will trade in one of the planes currently in the presidential fleet.  But the purchase will still gulp N400 million as deposit to the manufacturer.

Dear Compatriots,
I greet and felicitate with you all once again as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I join all of our Christian compatriots in giving thanks to God Almighty for the divine gift of Jesus Christ the Messiah whose earthly incarnation we commemorate today.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ who the Prophet Isaiah heralded as the Prince of Peace and Wonderful Counselor, I believe it is very appropriate that we all, Christians and non-Christians alike, reflect more deeply on the virtues and ideals which the Messiah espoused during his earthly mission.

To my mind, there can be no doubt that the greater internalization of the virtues of love for our fellowmen, tolerance, Godliness, honesty, fairness to others, selflessness, and peaceful co-existence with others, by all adult Nigerians, and the inculcation of the same in our youth,  will definitely help our dear nation to overcome most of its present challenges. Suicide bomber kills dozens in town near Baghdad

A suicide bomber killed 38 people and wounded dozens more in a town near Baghdad on Wednesday, police said.

The attacker detonated explosives near Awakening Council members in al-Madaan, a town roughly 20 kilometers southeast of Baghdad, as they were collecting their monthly paychecks at the council's headquarters.

The Awakening Councils are predominantly made up of Sunni Arab fighters in Iraq who turned against al Qaeda in late 2006.

ISIS Captures Jordanian Pilot Flying For U.S.-Led Coalition

For the first time since a United States-led international coalition began airstrikes against the extremist group ISIS, a coalition pilot was brought down and has been taken captive.

The captured F-16 pilot is Moaz al-Kasasbeh, a member of Jordan's military, according to his uncle, retired Jordanian Maj. Gen. Fahd al-Kasasbeh. Al-Kasasbeh's capture is a frightening reminder that it could have been any pilot downed and taken, including one from the United States which is flying F-16s in the area, too.

Former IICC Shooting Stars defender Moses Otolorin has died. He died in his home town Ilorin Kwara state yesterday December 22nd. Some sources say he died of prostrate and anus cancer. He was 67.
